Job description

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Manager, Insurance Reporting – Finance to join their dynamic team. This role is best suited for a highly skilled accounting professional with strong financial services expertise, advanced technical knowledge, and a passion for driving process improvements. The successful candidate will play a key role in monthly and quarterly reporting, financial analysis, and supporting insurance-related financial operations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting processes and provide valuable insights for business decision-making.

Responsibilities
•Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly journal entries, financial statements, and reporting packages.
•Support external audit processes through documentation and responses to auditor requests.
•Research and implement changes in reporting requirements, including the creation or revision of journal entries and investigation of reporting issues.
•Contribute proactive, detailed financial analysis to explain results and assist in forecasting.
•Partner with business units to improve information flow and support management decision-making.
•Collaborate with Finance team members to streamline reporting processes and enhance efficiency.
•Handle ad hoc requests related to journal entries, forecasts, and planning.
•Act as a backup for other roles within the department when required.
•Drive process improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date documentation.


Qualifications
Must-Have:
•CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA), MBA, or equivalent experience.
•Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in finance roles within the financial services industry.
•Advanced Excel skills with strong proficiency in Windows-based software and financial analytic systems.
•Experience using technical accounting tools (e.g., Tableau).
•Strong initiative, client-centric focus, and ability to work independently.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Have:
•Knowledge of insurance products and insurance accounting.
•Experience with financial systems and analytical tools.
