Job description

Randstad is excited to partner with a Construction Management / General Contracting company in Hamilton who focuses on commercial and residential construction. Our client is in search of an experienced Project Manager that has a strong track record of managing commercial / residential projects from $1M - $20M with full-cycle project experience. The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, budgeting, all of projects from early development to completion and close out. The Project Manager will review construction documents, develop accurate estimates, provide costing, coordinate tendering packages, analyzes bids, develop and awards contracts, as well as manage the trades, inspections and health and safety on the job. Managing the project schedule and administrators throughout the project is a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of commercial / residential projects
  • Ensure that all permits, notices, insurance, and bonding are in place
  • Assist in the tendering process and awarding of trade contracts
  • Procurement of all sub contractor contracts & purchase orders
  • Ensure that all subcontractors receive drawings and specifications, and all material and subcontractor tenders are issued in a timely manner
  • Organize and lead all pre- and course of construction meetings – with trades, on site and with consultants and owners
  • Manage the budget and change order process
  • Prepare and present monthly Project Cost Reports
  • Review and authorize sub-trade and material payments and verify accurate cost coding
  • Prepare and implement all submittal logs and RFI logs
  • Conduct regular site reviews and meetings
  • Manage all day-to-day correspondence and ensure that the job site receives all correspondence in a timely manner
  • Assist in securing new work by participating in estimates, proposals, and presentations as requested
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the ICI or multi-use Residential construction industry
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating, budgeting and scheduling
  • Strong understanding and adherence to safety standards
  • Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario construction codes
