Job descriptionA degree or diploma in fashion design 1 to 3 years of experience in a fashion design role, ideally within womenswear Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and the fashion design process Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to join their creative team in Montreal. This is an exciting opportunity for an up-and-coming designer with a passion for womenswear to support the design process, contribute to seasonal collections, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic fashion environment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibility :
- Assist the design team with the creation of seasonal collections, from initial concept to final product, ensuring attention to detail and consistency throughout the process
- Help research current and emerging fashion trends, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes to inform design direction
- Prepare technical drawings, design sketches, and detailed specification sheets to communicate design ideas to production teams
- Assist with the selection and sourcing of fabrics, trims, and materials in collaboration with the design and production teams
- Prepare and maintain design files, including mood boards, swatches, color palettes, and production schedules
- Work closely with senior designers, product development, and production teams to ensure timely delivery of designs and meet collection deadlines
- Participate in fit sessions, taking notes and contributing feedback
