About Us

We are seeking creative dynamic and committed teachers to join our team at Berrigan Elementary School.

Berrigan is a large multicultural K-6 community school. We offer a fulsome EFI and English program. Although we pull from a large catchment area we have a strong sense of community due in large part because a sizable percentage of our population live within walking distance to the school. Our staff take a collaborative approach to all aspects of school programing.

Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Boards (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school and the District by creating a positive and inclusive school climate learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a human rights and equity perspective to foster student success achievement and well-being.

Eligibility List

All Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for Long Term Occasional postings for which they are qualified.

If you are fully external to the OCDSB you may apply to this posting if you have the required qualifications. Please be advised that our order of consideration for Elementary LTOsis as follows :

1) current elementary occasional teacher applicants followed by

2) qualified external applicants.

Required Qualifications

OCT Divisional Qualifications : Primary

OCT Additional Qualifications : FSL Part 1

Additional Requirements (experience knowledge education) considered an asset for the Position :

• Spec Ed and previous experience teaching at the Primary level would be considered an asset.
