Job descriptionCertified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation preferred; candidates in progress toward certification will be considered. Previous experience in customs compliance within manufacturing or a similar environment is an asset. Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. customs laws, Harmonized Tariff classification, valuation, and international trade documentation. Proficiency with SAP and customs brokerage platforms is an asset. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and cross-functionally. Legally authorized to work in Canada; occasional U.S. travel may be required.
Customs Analyst – 6-Month Contract ($22.75–$31.00 / hour)
Location : Windsor, ON
Industry : Automotive / Manufacturing
Schedule : Monday to Friday, Day Shift
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Analyst for a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension or full-time conversion. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in facilitating the compliant and efficient movement of goods across international borders while ensuring all shipments meet applicable regulations and internal standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate inbound and outbound international shipments, ensuring full compliance with customs documentation and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to CBSA and U.S. CBP regulations, including CBSA’s CARM portal.
- Acquire and manage USMCA / CUSMA certificates and respond to inquiries related to trade agreements.
- Review and audit import / export documentation for accuracy prior to customs submission.
- Classify goods using Canadian and U.S. Tariff Schedules and verify duty rates and origin status.
- Liaise with customs brokers, agents, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipment issues and ensure timely movement of goods.
- Review broker invoices, verify charges, and audit duty applications for accuracy.
- Oversee export declarations via the Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS).
- Maintain accurate records for audit readiness and support refund or amendment filings as needed.

COMPENSATION
22.75–$31.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
