Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will join the mining team, based in Brampton, Sudbury, North Bay, Thompson, St John, or Thunder Bay offices.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Lead, supervise, and mentor electrical designer staff.
- Design power, PLC automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Oversee development of design concepts and ensure proper application.
- Verify the quality of designers' work regarding specifications, reports, code application, and deliverables.
- Mentor and encourage the development of designer staff.
- Apply EXP's risk management practices in electrical engineering.
- Lead the design team in producing engineering and construction documents that meet project requirements within schedule and budget.
- Maintain a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts.
- Encourage collaboration to find optimal solutions.
- Manage work plans and deliverables across multiple projects.
- Write studies and reports on electrical systems.
- Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting requirements or coordination challenges.
- Perform front-end loading of electrical systems for projects.
- Contribute to revisions of EXP's design standards and specifications.
- Evaluate value engineering options considering risk.
- Edit and develop basis of design narratives.
- Design high, medium, and low voltage AC and DC systems.
- Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, and area classifications.
- Participate in HAZOP, PHA, and safety reviews.
