The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, with rank and tenure status determined after an assessment of accomplishments and experience. The expected start date is 1 July 2024 or as negotiated.

In accordance with the University’s Equity Plan and pursuant to section 42 of the BC Human Rights Code, the selection will be limited to Indigenous peoples. Our search committee will review the pool of applications from those who self-identify with this designated group. As a world Art History department with strengths in Film Studies and Museum Studies, whose teaching and research bring together Indigenous, international, and interdisciplinary foci to foster intercultural understanding, global citizenship, and civic engagement, we are committed to working in ways that honour and are inspired by the art, culture, and histories of the Coast Salish Peoples. Our programs offer critical perspectives on social justice, gender, and decolonization, and are based on respect for cultural diversity and commitment to community engaged and community-based research.
