Production Director (Food & Packaging)

Toronto East

Monday - Friday, Day Shift

The Production Director in the East of Toronto facility holds a pivotal leadership role, overseeing and managing the operations related to beverage processing, packaging, and raw materials.

This includes ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality products while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to develop short-term schedules and medium-term plans. + Achieve short-term and long-term KPIs
  • Execute production plans for a 24 / 7 operation.
  • Ensure cost competitiveness, customer service, and product standards.
  • Manage team scheduling, resource allocation, and discipline.
  • Implement lean techniques for continuous improvement & zero losses.
  • Lead the autonomous maintenance program and lean roadmap.
  • Motivate teams through communication, feedback, and involvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet strategic goals.
  • Drive change using change management principles.
  • Lead by example with core values : cooperation, communication, excellence, integrity, and boldness.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience in the food or consumer goods industry
  • 10+ years of experience leading a team in a production environment
  • Proven track record of driving delivery and change management in complex manufacturing sites
  • Extensive experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Significant experience operating in a unionized environment, managing labor relations and navigating union interactions
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment
  • Ability to balance short-term operational objectives with long-term strategic thinking for sustainable growth and production success
  • Experience with unionized environments an asset
