Job Title : Detail / Lot Technician
This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of company and customer vehicles. Tasks include washing vehicles with high-pressure equipment, waxing with power tools, and maintaining all vehicle inventory on the dealership property.
Report to both the Sales and Service Managers for direction and instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Wash and wax vehicles (cars and trucks) promptly as per manager requests.
- Perform tasks efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership standards.
- Ensure all vehicle keys are properly tagged and match vehicle descriptions.
- Inspect vehicles for additional safety or service needs.
- Notify service advisors or sales managers of any additional work required.
- Handle customer vehicles carefully, avoiding personal use.
- Supervise apprentice technicians as assigned.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area and account for all dealership tools.
- Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.
Qualifications :
Working Conditions :
Typically a 40-hour, five-day workweek with occasional overtime and rotational Saturday shifts. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, involving exposure to dust, fumes, and hazardous materials. May require lifting up to 50 pounds and physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Use of hand and power tools is common. Uniforms are required at all times.
