CARPENTER – MODULAR CONSTRUCTIONSt. John’s, NL
$25.00/hour + 4% vacation pay
Full-Time | Temp-to-PermanentJOB OVERVIEWWe are currently seeking an experienced Carpenter for a full-time, temp-to-permanent opportunity with a modular construction operation in St. John’s.This position is best suited for a hands-on carpenter with residential construction, framing, or finishing experience who is comfortable using common carpentry tools and completing work with minimal supervision.The successful candidate will work primarily in an indoor shop environment, supporting the construction and finishing of modular homes.SCHEDULE

• Monday to Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Paid breaks
• Consistent daytime schedule

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Frame walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components
• Install sheathing, insulation, and drywall
• Install doors, windows, trim, and other finishing components
• Complete interior and exterior carpentry work
• Assist with modular home construction and assembly
• Perform general carpentry repairs and finishing tasks
• Read measurements and follow construction plans and instructions
• Safely use hand and power tools
• Assist with material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous hands-on carpentry experience
• Experience with residential construction, framing, or finishing
• Comfortable using common carpentry hand and power tools
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install materials
• Ability to follow construction plans, measurements, and instructions
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working at heights when required
• Reliable attendance and transportation
• Steel-toe boots required

ASSETSThe following are considered assets but are not required:

• Fall Protection certification
• WHMIS or OHS training
• Experience reading blueprints or technical drawings
• Experience working in modular or manufactured home construction
• Formal carpentry training or apprenticeship experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Primarily indoor shop-based work
• Some outdoor construction and job-site tasks
• Team-oriented environment
• Structured, process-driven modular construction
• Regular use of hand and power tools
• Physical, hands-on work throughout the day
