Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented, strategic, and proactive Buyer to manage and optimize our purchasing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, the ability to manage manual and system-driven workflows, and the ambition to take ownership of purchasing activities.

Responsibilities

Purchasing and Inventory Management :

  • Execute daily purchasing tasks, consolidating orders strategically to benefit from free shipping while balancing immediate inventory needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and align them with sales orders for efficient operations.
  • Monitor warehouse inventory levels, especially for key third-party brands, and suggest purchases as needed.
  • Resolve backorder issues and follow up relentlessly on overdue receivings.

System and Process Expertise :

  • Utilize ERP systems effectively and adapt to manual processes where necessary.
  • Master online customizer tools for primary brands such as Augusta, Under Armour, New Era, and The Game.
  • Design and implement organized workflows to streamline purchasing activities.

    • Communication and Collaboration :

  • Communicate effectively with internal sales representatives, operations teams, and external vendor representatives.
  • Build strong relationships to ensure seamless purchasing and alignment with company goals.

    • Detail Orientation and Problem-Solving :

  • Verify inventory availability and ensure accuracy in all purchasing activities.
  • Address and resolve issues proactively to avoid disruptions to the supply chain.

    • Qualifications

  • Proven experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and online purchasing tools; willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the purchasing process.
  • Knowledge of sports apparel and equipment is a strong asset.
