Duties
The Analyst, Planning and Events Management Unit (PEMU) supports PPS in researching, analyzing, coordinating, and preparing products that enable the effective planning and delivery of events across the Parliamentary Precinct. The analysis provided supports decision‑making and operational readiness, helping ensure events are secure, well‑organized, and effectively managed.
- Conducting open / closed‑source research and synthesizing information to support event planning and risk mitigation;
- Preparing concise briefing materials (reports, presentations, dashboards) for management and senior management;
- Coordinating with internal / external partners to support integrated planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational alignment;
- Monitoring trends (e.g., crowd dynamics, relevant social media indicators) and contributing to mitigation strategies;
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of PEMU processes, tools, and performance measures.
Work environment
The Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization and is not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. PPS has its own classification, compensation system, and staffing regime. Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and receive the Public Service Pension Plan and Public Service Insurance Benefits Plan.

ASSET EXPERIENCES : AE1 - Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in a field related to the position.
AE2 - Experience analyzing crowd behaviours and / or monitoring social media to inform event planning.
