Reporting to : Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs
Salary :
45.60 - $56.75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. Temporary faculty have the option to enroll in the College Pension Plan, with contributions matched by the employer.
Description :
Northern Lights College is currently seeking an individual to instruct components in a fast-paced, technology-based program and collaborative environment, following provincial curriculum. The courses will vary in length; with the scheduled classes beginning February 3rd, and will come to completion at the end of June 2025.
Once completed, the Applied Business Technology (Office Assistant) Certificate program prepares students to work in business, government, and industry offices. The program includes business communications and office procedures courses which enable students to develop the soft skills necessary for success in today's offices. The program has a one-week practicum placement to give students the opportunity to apply their new skills in an office environment.
The workload will include the following courses :
- ABTC 111 : Accounting I
- ABTC 114 : Human Relations and Job Search Skills
- ABTC 165 : Business English
- ABTC 191 : Practicum for Office Assistants
