Job descriptionInstallation of new and added-on equipment Conduct service and assist in the repairs on vehicles and equipment Perform scheduled and unscheduled service, maintenance and repairs to trucks and equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate Accurate completion of work orders Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational H&S regulations Assist in preventative and predictive maintenance schedules Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision Other mechanical repair work as required At least 5 years experience with Mechanical work (Automotive, Agricultural, Heavy-Duty Equipment & Industrial), preferred Ability to lift or move objects up to 50lb Ability to work with both hands above shoulder height as well as underneath equipment Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses / goggles, etc. Experience with routine maintenance operations Ability to work independently in a busy environment Able to work well under pressure Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times Valid Class 5 license required Ability to operate trucks requiring Class 1 drivers license, preferred Ability to use desktop computer and peripherals Overtime as required Hazards associated with the trade Work both indoor and outdoor Work Schedule : Monday to Friday, Day Shift- 6 : 00AM to 2 : 15PM; Evening Shift- 2 : 15PM to 10 : 15PM
Summary :
Performs tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of Meridian Trucks and Equipment such as trucks, tractors, trailers, forklifts, etc. The successful candidate must be able to service troubleshoot, dismantle, align, and assemble trucks, equipment and machinery to maintain it in efficient operating condition. Work assignments will be received in English in the form of oral and / or written work orders.
