We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structures Engineer to join a dynamic team in the aerospace sector working a variety of interesting projects. This role focuses on supporting the design and certification of modifications through the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process, ensuring compliance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulations. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects, contribute to the development of cutting-edge aerospace solutions, and play a critical role in maintaining airworthiness standards for modified aircraft.Key ResponsibilitiesSTC Development : Lead the structural design, analysis, and validation required for gaining Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approvals from TCCA.Regulatory Compliance : Interpret and ensure compliance with Transport Canada (CARs), FAA, and EASA airworthiness standards for aircraft structures.Design and Analysis : Develop, review, and approve structural modifications, including preparation of detailed engineering drawings and stress reports.Certification Support : Collaborate with the certification team to prepare and submit required technical documentation, such as compliance plans, test plans, and conformity checklists, to regulatory authorities.Testing and Validation : Oversee static, fatigue, and damage-tolerance testing to validate design compliance and structural integrity.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of structural modifications.Problem Solving : Investigate and resolve technical issues related to structural modifications, including repair designs and in-service challenges.Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in STC development.QualificationsEducation : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace structural design, analysis, and certification.Previous experience with Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) processes is highly desirable.Technical Skills : Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, or ANSYS.Strong understanding of materials (metals and composites) and their application in aerospace structures.Familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA or SolidWorks.Knowledge of TCCA, FAA, and EASA regulations, including CARs and FAR Part 23 / 25.Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.Strong communication skills to prepare technical documentation and interface with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
