Robert Half is looking for a qualified Accounting Clerk to maintain the day-to-day functions in a department. In this position, you will be responsible for playing an essential role in the process of Accounts Payable (A / P) and Accounts Receivable (A / R), general data entry, and aligning invoices to purchase orders and / or vouchers. This is a short-term contract / temporary position located in the Toronto, Ontario area.
Your responsibilities
- Post financial information to journals and ledgers
- Support Accounts Payable : vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A / P invoice matching & filing
- Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- See to the proper coding of documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
- Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of an array of sources
- Companywide accounting : help with G / L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable : apply cash receipt, process daily invoices / credit, and help with collection of past due balance
