The Sherwin-Williams Sales Representative Training Program is an 8-week structured program designed to familiarize you with our products, customers, and systems, preparing you for a role as one of our Business Development Representatives. What you gain? Limitless Career Opportunities
During the program, you’ll learn the skills needed to build a successful territory through business to business outside sales.
With a combination of mentorships and training modules, you’ll have the resources to sell to a wide variety of commercial paint customers.
After training, you’ll partner with our dynamic team of Store Managers to build your business and hit sales targets.
You’ll have the professional tools to develop a market strategy, conduct product demonstrations, and advise customers on their paints & coatings projects.

Complete training consistent with established program
Generate leads
Help determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations
Preparing weekly and monthly reports as required
Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients
Coordinate sales efforts with marketing programs
Understand and promote company programs
Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders
Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
Maintain client records
Answer client questions about terms, products, prices, and availability
Minimum Requirements :
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on your most recent performance appraisal
If internal to Sherwin-Williams, you must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position
Preferred Qualifications :
Have at least one (1) year experience working in a retail, sales, or customer service position
Have at least one (1) year work experience in business-to-business (“B2B”) sales
Have at least an associate degree in business, sales, or marketing
Have previous work experience selling paint and paint related products
Have work experience using timekeeping and / or customer relationship management ("CRM") systems
Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
