Job description

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Food Manager your duties will include but are not limited to; providing strategic leadership to the Produce Team Members to ensure operational efficiencies and processes are followed to align with the strategy, objectives and vision of the respective department. This role will work with the Food Store Manager to determine current and future capabilities required for effective execution of merchandising, marketing, image/fixed assets, talent development in addition to driving sales. Responsible for recruitment, performance management, team member relations, health and safety, marketing, merchandising, fixed asset management, and administrative duties. This position requires some out of town travel and out of province travel approximately 1 -3 times per year. Travel may be for seminars, conferences, or competition checks as well as to assist in alternate locations as required. This may change depending on operational requirements.

  • You have Grade 12 or Equivalent with a preference for post-secondary education (business diploma or degree)

  • You have previous experience (3-5 years) in a retail environment with supervisory responsibilities, with a preference for produce experience

  • You have your Food Safety Certificate and a commitment to ongoing development in the industry.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.

  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-orientated and strive to be the best in what you do.
