Property Claims Adjuster

Title: Property Claims Adjuster
Status: Full-Time ( Hours/Week), Permanent
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Hybrid: 2 days in the office, 3 days remote

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be responsible for handling moderate to complex personal and commercial property insurance claims from first notice of loss through to final settlement. This role involves investigating claims, confirming policy coverage, coordinating services between clients and vendors, processing claim payments, and managing recovery and subrogation activities. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in property claims adjusting, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

What You Can Expect:
• Investigate and settle personal and commercial property insurance claims.
• Provide prompt, courteous, reliable, and fair claims service to both internal and external customers.
• Handle property insurance claims by phone through to resolution.
• Clearly explain the entire claims process to customers using simple and easy-to-understand language.
• Determine whether losses are covered under policyholders' insurance policies.
• Ensure all claims are handled promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with customers and preferred vendors to determine the best approach for resolving claims.
• Maintain detailed claim files by accurately entering relevant information into the appropriate computer systems.
• Process claim payments within established authority limits.
• Initiate recovery and subrogation procedures for assigned claims.
• Achieve the annual objectives of the Claims Department while demonstrating our core values and meeting competency expectations.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in property insurance claims adjusting.
• Valid Level 5 Claims Adjuster Licence issued by the AMF.
• Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service and creating positive customer experiences.
• Adaptable and versatile, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team player who collaborates effectively and builds positive working relationships.
• Previous experience in commercial insurance claims is considered a strong asset.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems quickly and efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, approachable, and courteous in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to thrive in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure.
