One of our downtown Toronto law firm clients is looking to add an Accounting Clerk to their team. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is hybrid, with three days in the office per week; however, during the three-month probation period, you will be required to work fully on-site.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage accounts receivable, billing, payroll, lawyer dues, and accounts payable, while ensuring compliance with financial reporting and reconciliation requirements. The role includes processing invoices and receipts, managing collections and reimbursements, preparing reports and HST filings, assisting with year-end and tax processes, and maintaining organized accounting records, with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
The Offer
This role offers a salary of up to $75,000 per year, along with benefits, three weeks of vacation, and a positive, supportive work culture.
What You Bring
To qualify for this role, you will bring a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a law firm environment, with hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing/e-billing, trust accounting, and preparing final financial reporting. You must have strong Excel skills and experience with law firm software such as GhostPractice, LEAP, or other similar systems. Experience with e-billing platforms, including TyMetrix 360 or Legal X is considered a strong asset. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, a strong team player, and self-motivated.
