Assistant Accountant

Location : Vancouver Island, B.C.

Salary :  $58,000 based on your experience

Employment Type : Full-Time

The Opportunity

Our well-established Vancouver Island client is expanding their finance team and seeking an Assistant Accountant . This role offers the chance to work closely with all levels of the organization while supporting full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Handle weekly and monthly reporting
  • Collaborate with various departments and management
  • Assist in tracking KPIs, financial analysis, and reporting for the Division Controller
  • Support projects and other assigned duties

What You Bring

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in full-cycle accounting
  • Enrolled in the CPA program or working on CPA prep courses with the goal of obtaining your designation
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    Requirements

    You must have 1-3 years of experience in accounting roles supporting full cycle accounting and currently enrolled in the CPA program (or working on prep courses with a desire to pursue your CPA).  Solid working knowledge of MSOFFICE and strong organization skills.
