Location :   Various locations across Nova Scotia

The Financial Manager / Accountant is responsible for managing the organization’s finances, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. This role ensures that the organization’s financial operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and manage the organization’s budget.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and risk management.
  • Manage the organization’s investments and cash flow.
  • Work with external auditors to conduct annual audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
