Position Summary
PSG is a global leader in the design and manufacture of pumps, systems, and related flow control solutions that enable the safe, efficient and reliable transfer of critical and valuable materials. We are seeking outstanding candidates who can translate ideas and strategies into world‑class results.
The manufacturing engineer plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes within an industrial plant, partnering cross‑functionally to improve efficiency, quality, and production performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes, designs new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for improving existing ones.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by conducting time studies, evaluating results, and planning workflow to implement new processes.
Designs work‑holding and fixture solutions that improve consistency, quality, and efficiency in assembly and testing.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Demonstrates ability to utilize continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma tools to lead the development, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes for all areas of production.
Conducts complex analysis with knowledge of set‑up reduction, 5S, line balancing, root cause, PLC logic and standards, cell layouts, and machine designs.
Prepares Statements of Work to supply vendors for specialized equipment.
Oversees support teams to coordinate the build and installation of a machine.
Analyzes manufacturing activities to determine manufacturing capacity and design, improve production methods, and fabricate or modify manufacturing processes.
Develops methods to understand workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace to ensure maximum efficiency.
Collaborates with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Partners with planning and design staff to influence product design and tooling decisions that support efficient production.
Possesses in‑depth knowledge of testing and equipment operations, understands required performance outputs, and effectively trains others on machinery and equipment operation.
Works closely with management, engineering, and other stakeholders to align manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and operational considerations.
Qualifications / Requirements
Degree in Engineering or equivalent and / or minimum three (3) years related experience in a similar environment.
Proven mechanical skills and working knowledge of blueprints mandatory. Basic PLC programming skills (Allen Bradley preferred).
Strong written communication to develop processes and work instructions.
Proficient with CAD software – SolidWorks preferred.
Time study experience and certified.
Six Sigma training.
Excellent analytical, mechanical and problem‑solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication.
Working knowledge of Office programs, with minimum of intermediate experience in Excel.
Ability to work with a union environment.
Qualifications Desired
Experience with fluid testing preferred.
Experience with automation solutions including robotics preferred.
