Why does the opportunity exist?
This newly established leadership role is designed to support the rapid growth. This role is essential as a growing need exists to focus on key strategic accounts within retail, consumer electronics, and apparel. The company has identified the need for someone to oversee these large accounts while driving organic growth and securing new business. This individual will be dedicated to managing these critical clients and expanding their share of wallet.
Mandate
This pivotal role is responsible for growing key client relationships while driving business expansion. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the SAM will manage large retail, consumer electronics, and apparel clients with intricate logistics and supply chain needs.
The role involves maintaining existing strategic accounts and acquiring new clients to meet sales and profitability targets. The SAM will bridge client relationships and internal functions like operations and pricing to deliver tailored supply chain solutions.
The Ideal Candidate :
The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, results-driven individual with a proven track record of success in sales and account management. With over seven years of experience in transportation and warehousing, they will have an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to both hunt for new business and nurture existing relationships.
This individual must possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, be self-motivated, and excel at navigating complex client challenges. They should also have successfully led cross-functional teams to deliver client-focused solutions and drive company growth. A strong work ethic, ability to multitask, and deep understanding of the 3PL market are critical for success in this fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Selection Criteria
Candidates must have the following experience to be considered :
- Overall Experience : 7+ years of experience in account management, business development, or sales within the 3PL, transportation, or warehousing industries.
- Proven Success : A commercial solid track record in B2B sales with a demonstrated ability to grow accounts and acquire new business.
- Sales Expertise : Experience in both hunting new business and farming existing accounts for growth, with a deep understanding of the complexities of supply chain management.
- Education : A bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
