Great Opportunity for a Financial Analyst (Manufacturing Experience an asset)!
Location : Markham, ON
Salary Range : $70,000 - $80,000
Overview :
Our client, a leading name in the manufacturing industry, is in search of a Financial Analyst (Manufacturing Experience an asset) to join their dynamic team in a full-time hybrid role. This hybrid role is based in Markham ON, and you should be comfortable coming to the office 2-3 days per week. You'll ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations and assist in both internal and external audits. Reporting directly to and supporting the FA Manager, your success in this role will depend on your strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing financial information to support decision-making processes in the organization. Your responsibilities will include financial planning and analysis, where you will develop and maintain financial models essential for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Strong expertise in Excel is required, as you will be analyzing and interpreting complex financial data, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization. In this fast-paced environment, comparable to the demands of a private equity firm, you must be comfortable managing a high workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Your role will also involve conducting detailed cost analysis of manufacturing operations, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, and collaborating with operations teams to implement cost control measures. You will prepare and present comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy during month-end and year-end closing processes. A key expectation is that you can explain and articulate financial data provided by accounting to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, as well as present your findings to upper management with confidence.
Additionally, you will monitor inventory levels and costs, optimize inventory turnover, and evaluate capital expenditure proposals with ROI assessments. Your analytical mindset and ability to think creatively ("out of the box") will be essential in developing financial models for scenario analysis and contributing to strategic decision-making. You'll collaborate closely with departments such as Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain to provide valuable financial insights.
Responsibilities :
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and audit schedules.
- Prepare financial analysis on company spending and costing (fixed assets / inventory / direct cost / overhead) as well as generating reports highlighting and explaining significant variances to forecast.
- Responsible for fixed asset reconciliations, maintenance, depreciation calculations and all aspects of reporting
- Responsible for weekly inventory analysis, reporting and monthly reconciliation.
- Support periodic forecasting requirements (fixed assets, CIP and inventory)
- Support other audit requirements as required.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
- Collaboration with cross functional teams to ensure financial results and analysis align with overall financial goals.
