We are looking for an HVAC Technician to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch (RPPM) in Ottawa. The successful candidate would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

Our HVAC Technician provides repair, maintenance and installation services for a variety of equipment and building systems of various facilities in the National Capital Region, including :
The HVAC Technician’s maintenance activities are carried out in response to emergency situations, malfunctions and as part of regular preventative maintenance programs. He / she is responsible for equipment and control systems during emergency call-ins, scheduled overtime and power shutdowns. He / she must comply with and maintain government refrigerant regulations and records.

Screening Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates :
Education
Secondary School Diploma according to provincial standards.
Valid Ontario 313A-Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic or an equivalent Inter-Provincial Red Seal Journeymen’s Certificate of Qualification.
Ozone depletion certificate.
Completion of Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform training could be considered as an asset.

Must be able to possess and retain the physical capabilities to perform the position which include but may not be limited to : crouching, bending, twisting, walking, climbing stairs & ladders, ability to hear to diagnose mechanical troubles, and the ability to handle heavy and bulky objects.
