Job Function : To manage a group of consulting engineering projects by planning, organizing and controlling their progress through the design, approval and construction phases, and to be the company’s primary contact with the client on assigned projects.
Department Function : To provide land development assessments, prepare proposals for land development and municipal engineering work, and to manage consulting engineering projects through to completion.
Responsibilities :
- Plans and organizes the completion of assigned consulting engineering projects by preparing proposals, budgets and schedules.
- Coordinates production requirements for projects with applicable department managers (i.e. Design, Water Resources, Contracts, Field). Assembles information for design.
- Conducts project design and construction meetings.
- Liaises with municipalities, clients and other approval agencies in the pursuit ofapprovals and general coordination tasks. Liaises with sub-consultants and internal groups.
- Monitors and maintains adherence to project schedules, expediting as required.
- Communicates pertinent project information to Design Manager and staff assigned to projects.
- Calculates, monitors and controls project budgets, initiating any necessary action to achieve established financial targets, including expediting with Design Manager.
- Reviews and approves monthly project invoices. Assists in collection of overdue fees and advises collections staff of project issues that may affect collection procedures.
- Develops and maintains client relationships. Participates in promotional activities for the company with senior management.
- Provides project status reports on a regular basis and as required. Completes project post-mortems.
Minimum Qualifications :
Post-secondary education in civil engineering or engineering technology.Minimum ten (10) years Canadian experience in design and management of site plans and subdivisions, with a full understanding of servicing, grading, and stormwater management requirements.Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.Works well individually and with others in a team environment.To apply for this job, please send your resume and cover letter to info@candevcon.com , quoting “ Project Manager ” in the subject.
