The look and feel of buildings in Milton helps set us apart. And that’s not by accident. Now, we’re looking to bring aboard someone who will be pivotal in this regard – a City Architect to take the lead in understanding and shaping Milton’s architectural character to ensure that new development, redevelopment, and public projects align with our community’s vision and unique identity.
Serving as a technical reviewer, design advisor, and other assorted roles, the City Architect will evaluate applications; work with boards, committees, and developers; and collaborate with staff in several City departments. He or she will be involved in zoning, planning, site development, placemaking, policy-making, and participating in various projects. This is also a job that requires engaging with citizens, getting a sense of what they want and what makes sense for Milton as a whole.
The person who ascends to this role should be capable of demonstrating strong leadership, understand and make progress when dealing with complex situations, and exercise sound decision-making. They'll evaluate applications, offer recommendations, prepare concept sketches, and a whole lot more.
