Reporting directly to theCTO, youll guide a talented team of engineers while contributing your own expertise inanalog/mixed-signalandFPGA design. This is atrue player-coach role where the candidate will manage the Electronics Design team while also overseeing technical execution and providing hands-on contribution.

The Opportunity
As theElectronics Design Manager, youll lead the design and delivery of complex, safety-critical electronics for our advanced ophthalmic systems. Youll provide both management of Electrical Engineers and technical oversight. Technical oversight will involve driving architecture, guiding design reviews, and mentoring engineers. Youll work cross-functionally across software, optics, mechanical, and systems teams to deliver cohesive, high-performance systems that meet regulatory and quality standards.

Their mission is to provide novel treatment options through state-of-the-art solutions, blending real-time classical computer vision, deep learning algorithms, 3D eye imaging, and high-precision laser surgery. As they continue to progressively grow, they require a Electronics Design Manager. The Candidate they seek will be a current technical leader that is driving architecture, guiding design reviews, and mentoring engineers (mainly Electrical) ideally in a regulated OEM that is currently building medical or complex high reliability systems. This will be an Engineer with technical proficiencies with FPGA digital Design and or Analog mixed signal design and will have familiarity with embedded firmware and communication interfaces. This OEM is based in Alberta but it can be ahybrid rolefor the right Candidate anywhere in Canada with a willingness to travel often to the Alberta based HQ.
