The Strategic Sourci Manager is responsible for providing Procurement support for an assigned spend portfolio while influencing sourcing decisions, driving supplier consolidation, cost savings and cost avoidance efforts.
Aviva Canada is undergoing major transformations, and this role will be integral to the success of this transformation journey as a key business enabler. This role will be working with multiple senior partners within different business domains to proactively develop category strategies, roadmap, and complete procurement delivery through negotiation and contract strategies for high risk / complex and sensitive sourcing initiatives.

What you'll do :
The responsibilities of this role encompasses all commercial aspects from the initial selection of Suppliers to their effective integration into the Aviva organization which includes implementing Aviva’s overall outsourcing strategy, operationalizing supplier governance models, monitoring category related activities, assisting business areas to ensure service delivery is effective and within defined boundaries, and coordinating with each functional area on their sourcing requirements and expectations. The role will act as a subject matter authority advocate for Aviva in any contract disputes or negotiations.
Factors crucial to this critical role include :
Interacting with Aviva business partners to ensure that their business requirements are adequately collected, and corresponding tactics and sourcing related activities address their needs
Implementing and driving sourcing events for products and services.
Leading dispute resolution processes
Leading key negotiations
Handling designated supplier contracts
Some of the other specific responsibilities of this role include :
Supervising and improving the quality of the relationship between the Aviva and its suppliers
Owning and managing the outsourcing governance processes and results
Owning and managing the supplier relationship management processes
Tracking and managing outsourcing related programs
What you'll bring :
University degree or equivalent experience or a combination of both
Service Provider / Vendor Management sourcing experience
Demonstrated ability (5+ years) in category management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and contract management
Experience in business transformation initiatives is an asset
Experience in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier / contract management of IT and SaaS products is considered an asset
Demonstrated project management experience
Project and contract management experience for professional and IT services contracts is considered an asset
Shown ability to lead change at the executive level with a focus on service delivery and financial results
Understanding of benchmarking processes and techniques
Experience with supplier performance measures and monitoring
Demonstrates global competence and experience working with global / multinational companies and collaborators from different regions to collaborate or seek consensus
What you’ll get :
The salary band for this position ranges from $75,500 to $140,300. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
