• About the role :
• We're hiring a Software Engineer for Remitly Business team to help Remitly serve small business owners around the globe. On the team you will solve important problems for business owners and improve their access to a global customer base. You'll prototype, validate, and scale new offerings. While on the team, you'll work with members of multiple cross functional teams (UX, legal, compliance, marketing) and most of platform engineering teams. You will be reporting to Engineering Manager.
• You will :
• Build new features to support businesses sending and receiving money around the globe
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, including product / program managers and marketing, compliance and legal specialists.
• Guide the team's technical strategy while leading, shipping, and operating full-stack features and systems.
• Promote engineering excellence by delivering well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions, improving team processes, and contributing to cross-team technical designs.
• Enhance team talent through mentoring, code review, interviewing, and ramping new hires.
• You have :
• 3+ years of experience.
• Experience building and operating backend systems in a production environment.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or similar).
• Familiarity with distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• A track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable code in a collaborative environment.
• Compensation Details.
• The starting base salary range for this position is $116,000-$140,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
