Accenture invites applications for the Mainframe Solution Architect role, a high‑performing team focused on client adoption of disruptive technologies, architecture, and modernization of legacy systems.

The Work

This role leads modernization visioning, platform transformation, application decomposition, and solution design for systems running on IBM z / OS, Unisys, or Micro Focus / Rocket re‑hosted environments. The architect ensures solutions meet business requirements, modernization objectives, and enterprise architecture standards while balancing performance, reliability, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture discussions with business, SMEs, and technical teams.
• Act as a thought leader for modernization strategy, tools, and best practices.
• Provide mentorship to developers, analysts, and architects in modernizing legacy systems.
• Engage with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, and integration teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
• Strong stakeholder management across technical and business domains.
• Proven leadership in multi‑team delivery environments.
• Ability to balance innovation with practical constraints of large enterprise systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation varies by location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The base pay range below reflects most offers for this role and is not a maximum limit. Location : Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Annual salary range : $82,600 to $132,600 (British Columbia / Ontario). Benefits information can be found here.
