Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is situated approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It encompasses the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the former Woodfibre pulp mill site, featuring a storage capacity of 250,000 m³ and an annual production of approximately 2.1 million tons of LNG.​

Position

The HSS Manager, Operations , is a pivotal leadership role within the Woodfibre LNG Operations team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of health, safety, and security performance during the Commissioning, Start-Up (CSU), and Operations phases of the plant. Reporting to the Vice-President of HSSE & Regulatory Compliance, this role is embedded in Operations and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, fostering a culture of excellence in safety and stewardship.​

Key Responsibilities

The Successful applicant will :

Commissioning & Start-Up (CSU) Phase :

• Develop and implement Health, Safety and Security strategies and programs tailored to CSU activities.
• Set up all the procedures for CSU and Operations phase of the HSS Management System.
• Collaborate with commissioning teams to identify and mitigate HSS risks.
• Ensure all personnel receive appropriate HSSE training prior to CSU activities.
• Establish emergency response procedures specific to CSU scenarios.
• Monitor compliance with HSSE regulations and standards during CSU.
• Support Operations and the Project in implementing a permit to work system for the CSU phase.
