Cardiac Sonographer

The Toronto Cardiac Clinic is seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our medical team. The Sonographer will be responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of various cardiac medical conditions. This includes standard echoes, Stress echoes as well as contrast and bubble echoes.

Qualifications

Must have graduated from a recognized echocardiography program

Must hold an active membership with Sonography Canada or the ARDMS

Member must be in good standing with the CMRITO

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position

Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal

Demonstrated problem solving skills

Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork

Demonstrated individual leadership skills

Responsibilities:

Able to independently perform TTE studies

Able to review requisitions and patient history to identify physician’s requirements and to check with the supervising cardiologist if uncertain

Able to ensure the proper process is followed in the performance of the requested service and that the testing performed is accurate and valid and all the required views are taken

Able to maintain and apply program accreditation standards to all the studies

Analyze technical information to provide preliminary findings to healthcare providers

Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures

Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to data protection regulations

Skills:

Knowledge of medical terminology

Strong communication skills to interact with patients, staff and healthcare professionals

Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes

Experience with Velox and Accuro an asset.
