Infrastructure Ontario (IO), an Ontario crown corporation, provides a wide range of services to support the Ontario government’s initiative to modernize and maximize the value of public infrastructure and realty. IO has been recognized domestically and internationally for the way it does business and the success it has had with its major projects, real estate services, infrastructure lending, commercial projects, and development mandate. IO delivers some of the most complex, ambitious commercial and land development solutions for the Province and continues to evolve and expand its capabilities to maximize its public impact and deliver on its vision of creating a connected, modern and competitive Ontario. Development IO’s Development team provides commercial advice and support to the provincial government and public sector partners regarding major land developments, including social purpose projects, transit-oriented communities, and landmark projects.IO is responsible for the delivery of transit-oriented communities, which are part of the provincial government’s plan to build new, sustainable transit.IO’s Development team also supports the transformation of unique provincial assets into impactful and sustainable developments that provide public policy and commercial benefits. The Development Team at IO has experienced rapid growth since its inception in late 2021. What You Will Do

As a Senior Advisor within , you will support the leadership team for either Landmark Projects (LP), Social Purpose Projects (SPP), or Transit Oriented Communities (TOC), in a client-facing capacity. Collaborating through self-driven workstreams, with teams of internal and external consultants, key partners, and subject matter experts, you will provide advisory services in support of key government infrastructure initiatives. Through the full project lifecycle, you will collaborate with teams of internal and external consultants to advise, propose solutions, present, and challenge the status quo for continuous improvement by generating, planning, and constructing solutions that enable public and private sector key partners to deliver commercially viable solutions and maximize the utility of land to construct complete communities.Your ability to enhance and manage partnerships with municipalities, and interface with Provincial agencies, crown corporations, other intergovernmental partnerships, and the public, will set the foundation of your advisory work as you handle confidential, complex, and delicate materials, manage the production of presentations, and provide advice that helps IO’s Development Team to : navigate policy resolutions and government approvals; participate in commercial negotiations; prepare business cases, including financial and / or planning analysis; manage master planning; manage and secure entitlements; coordinate site due diligence and preparation works; support tenant management and lease tracking; manage transactions; and produce key performance indicators / deliverables for new and existing lines of business. Through effective delivery of policy objectives, you will participate in saving taxpayer dollars, reducing costs, and increasing revenues.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrated expertise and readiness for the Senior Advisor, Development role in large-scale urban developments and revitalizations with complementary specialization in high-profile and complex real-estate transactions in one or more of the below verticals.

Landmark Projects (LP) :

  • An understanding of land use planning processes and development approvals as well as experience master planning large-scale, multi-partner, multi-phased revitalization projects is required. Professional designation(s) in a related field (, RPP, MCIP, PMP, etc.) are complementary.
  • Insights into feasibility assessments for development projects, including site analysis, concept design and testing, financial analysis, and business case development, is an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger multi-disciplinary, inter-departmental team and proven ability to manage, coordinate, and track diverse project-based teams.
  • Ability to coordinate external advisory services to ensure delivery of technical materials on time and on budget in support of the Ontario Place Redevelopment and Ontario Science Centre Relocation projects as well as other new mandates.
  • Social Purpose Projects (SPP) :

  • Ability to work collaboratively and support projects and transactions for government social purpose projects including community development, housing solutions, long-term care facilities, healthcare revitalization, and recreational development.
  • Experience working in land development, not-for-profit housing, healthcare, and other community development initiatives.
  • Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) :

  • Exposure to real-estate deal environments for mixed-use commercial / retail / residential densification, and infrastructure development along large bus, Subway, and GO / LRT stations.
  • Project management of the interface between infrastructure projects and larger revitalization and development along major transit or transportation regions.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Relevant professional learnings and competencies developed through experience in urban / land use / real-estate planning, development, or infrastructure project delivery.
  • Some experience in land use planning processes and development approvals.
  • A couple of years experience in feasibility assessments for development projects.
  • A few years experience in working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Several years experience in coordinating external advisory services.
  • Significant experience in supporting projects and transactions for government social purpose projects.
  • Extensive experience in exposure to real-estate deal environments and project management.
  • The Development Enterprise Team may have various Regular, Full-time and Fixed-term (temporary or acting) assignments to fill for immediate and future vacancies.   • 82,800 - $124,100 a yearWe offer a competitive salary range of $82,800 to $124,100 (P4 level).
