Maintenance Electrician

Overview

Brampton Brick, located at 225 Wanless Drive, Brampton, Ontario, is seeking a Maintenance Electrician (industrial electrician). This will be a full-time (44 hours per week), permanent position. Compensation is $48 / hour plus extended medical benefits, dental benefits, and financial benefits as per collective agreement. Language of work is English. Location of work : 225 Wanless Drive, Brampton, Ontario.

Duties for the position will include :

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial brick kiln equipment installations
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components of industrial brick kilns
• Test electrical and electronic brick kiln equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems, such as the Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC controllers and network, which includes Industrial Motion Control Systems, HMIs, and Common Industrial Protocol
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution, motor control centres, VFD drives, and motor control
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of integrated electro-mechanical systems including pneumatic and complex hydraulic systems
• Install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and electrical aspects of new construction and maintenance projects

A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an industrial electrician working with large complex Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems and variable speed drives, such as the PowerFlex 750-Series drives is required.
