JOB SUMMARY

TheSpeech-LanguagePathologist,underthedirectionoftheManagerofRehabilitationorClinicalManager-Branchlevel,isresponsibleforcompletionofprofessionalactivitiesthatinclude : assessment,treatment, education,andmanagementof clientsrequiringSpeechandLanguagePathologyintervention, inaccordance withprofessionalstandards.

ClinicalResponsibilities :

Responsiblefortheassessmentofclients,establishmentandongoingevaluationandrevisionoftreatmentprograms,includinggoalsanddischargeplans.

Maintainscurrentaccurateclinicalrecords accordingtostandardssetbytheCollegeofAudiologistsandSpeech-languagePathologists ofOntario.

Documents assessmentresults,goals, treatment,clientprogressanddischarge plans.

  • Collaborateswithothermembersofthehealthcareteamasneeded..
  • Communicatespertinentinformationandrecommendationstoclients / careprovidersandprovides education regardingtreatmentstrategiesas needed.
  • Observestheperformanceofthoseassistinginthespeechandlanguageprogramandprovidesguidance as necessary.

  • Maintain activestandingwith theCollegeofAudiologistsandSpeech-LanguagePathologistsofOntario.
  • Participateinongoing internaland / orexternaleducationactivities
  • AdheretoBayshoreICSPoliciesandProcedures
  • Participateinqualityactivitiesandcontinuousimprovementinitiativesinkeepingwiththecompany'sQualityManagementSystem
  • ParticipateinproactiveHealth& Safetyactivitieswhileperformingallduties.Responsibletonotifyimmediate Supervisorof anyHealth &Safetyrisks orconcerns.
  • Maintainconfidentialityofclientandcorporateinformationanddiscussessameonlywithappropriate Bayshore personnel
  • Completeothertasksasrequested

Job Qualification

Education

MastersDegreeor recognized equivalentin Speech-LanguagePathology. Registered and in goodstandingwiththeCollege ofAudiologists orSpeech-Language PathologistsofOntario..

Experience

Preference ofthreeyearsproviding Speech-LanguagePathologyservices.Experiencecompletingin-home assessmentsand treatments;

knowledge ofautoinsurance and legalsystemis anassetparticularlymedical / legalreportwriting.

OtherSkillsandAbilities

Enjoyworkingwithclients ofallagesin multipletreatmentenvironments.Strongcommunication(oralandwritten)andexceptionalinterpersonalanddecision-makingskills.

Abilitytohandledifficultsituationsinanobjectiveandconsistentmanner.Abilitytoworkindependentlyandtoeffectivelycollaboratewithateam.

Demonstratebasicknowledgeofpersonalcomputers,andproficiencywithsecureemail. Commitmenttocontinuedlearning. Validdriver’slicense.
