Core Network Manager

Your Position & How You Will Contribute Reporting to the Manager, Network Engineering, the Core Network Manager will be the hands-on architect and scale owner of the core network according to the design and new build objectives set by the technical leadership. This role demands deep, hands-on expertise with BGP and the Juniper MX routing platform, as well as enough working knowledge of the Service Provider Network to drive optimizations in the Access network and proof-of-concepts in the lab. The ideal candidate is comfortable with the critical place our internet routing infrastructure has in the organization, while not finding themselves only constrained to the business of tables and peers.
Responsibilities & Key Duties
- Core Ownerships & Juniper Configuration : Understand the as-deployed core infrastructure, own the process of adding new sites and capacity while driving optimizations in process that enable scale and resiliency.
- Subject Matter Expert : Provide key guidance and stay ahead of customer demand through expert knowledge of best routing practices and industry trends
- Maintenance Quarterback : Execute the necessary network maintenance activities from a distance, leveraging remote hands and field operatives to minimize risk and drive project milestones
- Own the Outcome : Drive troubleshooting and incident response actions through not just ownership of the network but by guiding and controlling our actions through proactive documentation and incident planning workshops

Internet Routing Expert : You know what to do with a pair or more of full tables, dual-stackJuniper Fanboy : Some love it, some don't know they love it yet - we need someone who can drop-in comfortable even if its not been the primary focus of your prior rolesGet's What We're Going For : Practical Service Provider experience and small teams are not always where Networking experience and leadership skills are gained - but we need you to be able to relate your experience to our goals which may mean stepping into a new frontierContinuous Learner : The networking field has had a programming reniassiance to the point where it's often hard to tell the difference. We'd like to see you've kept up with that in the way you approach complex tasks and unfamiliar items.Education
Degrees / Diplomas in Computer Science, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Security / Networking.JNCIS-SP or higher an asset, Security and DC tracts also very relevant.CCNS / P or higher also considered with relative Juniper transferrability.ImPACT Values
