Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for a  Payroll Specialist to join their team.

Key Responsibilities :

• Administer bi‐weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees across multiple Canadian provinces.
• Process both union and non‐union payroll, ensuring adherence to collective agreement provisions where applicable.
• Accurately calculate wages, overtime, premiums, bonuses, and retroactive payments.
• Manage all payroll-related deductions, including statutory taxes, benefits, pension contributions, and union dues.
• Support the full employee payroll lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and preparation of Records of Employment (ROEs).
• Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date employee information within payroll and HRIS systems.
• Reconcile payroll records, prepare payroll reports, and assist with payroll‐related journal entries.
• Address employee payroll inquiries professionally, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Contribute to year‐end activities, including preparation of Ts, RL‐s, and documentation for audits.
• Ensure full compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance operational efficiency.
