NAVAL ARCHITECTURE TECHNICIAN / PROJECT MANAGER

Permanent position – Based in Québec City – Salary range: $70,000 to $100,000 depending on profile

Through its ability to bring innovative ideas to life—from preliminary concepts to turnkey projects—our team is capable of delivering complex projects involving the design, construction, modification, or repair of various types of vessels and floating structures.

Concept Naval is currently seeking an experienced Naval Architect / Project Manager to join its team at our Québec City office, offering a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River and Château Frontenac. We are also open to considering candidates based in Montréal (Rachel & Molson area). This unique role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the company’s innovative and high-impact projects, including initiatives related to greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, while staying at the forefront of emerging technologies in the maritime industry.

As a Naval Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

• Support clients throughout their projects, identify their needs, define project scopes, and act as a trusted partner;

• Deliver the engineering aspects of multiple projects within established timelines, quality standards, and budgets;

• Supervise the preparation of drawings and specifications produced by drafters and technicians;

• Supervise and contribute to the design of propulsion systems, structural components, piping, HVAC systems, and onboard services;

• Prepare analysis reports using tools to evaluate vessel hydrodynamic performance (seakeeping, maneuverability, resistance, impact);

• Assess vessel stability (lines plans review and inclining tests) and approve stability booklets;

• Resolve complex technical issues requiring research and in-depth analysis;

• Manage all phases of projects while meeting schedules and controlling budgets;

• Prepare project progress and follow-up reports;

• Actively participate in knowledge sharing to help grow the team and ensure strong succession planning.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a college diploma (DEC) in Naval Architecture – Marine Engineering or an equivalent qualification;

• Has a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;

• Has a working knowledge of French and is fluent in English, both spoken and written;

• Is organized, methodical, autonomous, and detail-oriented;

• Effectively manages priorities and meets established deadlines;

• Communicates clearly and demonstrates strong client-service skills.
