Job Summary :

The Production Helper works on assigned projects with limited or no supervision while performing general manual labor tasks / housekeeping of production areas, various entry-level production positions, operation of material handling equipment and mobile equipment ensuring the work is effective and performed in accordance with all relevant codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities & Duties :

  • General manual labor and housekeeping of production areas
  • Performs various entry-level production duties
  • Visual inspection / operation of equipment such as packaging equipment, belts, conveyors, screws, elevator, scales, dust collectors, fines, dust bins and product bins
  • Perform assigned kiln outage work including refractory
  • Visual inspection of lime products and identification of nonconforming product
  • Inspection and operation of mobile equipment that may include front-end loader, bobcat, forklift, and various yard and haul trucks
  • Works co-operatively with other employees with a minimum of supervision
  • Completion of documents and records
  • Monitors work done for adherence to legislated requirements
  • Report production / electrical / mechanical issues to Supervision immediately
  • Must be able to properly use Personal Protective Equipment, such as fall protection equipment, gloves, respirators, face shield, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots
  • Able to properly use confined space equipment and follow procedures for entering confined spaces
  • Any other duties as assigned by management

Job Qualifications :

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalency
  • Technical knowledge of process and plant equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Heavy equipment experience a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Prior experience demonstrating effective leadership skills
  • Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
