Payroll Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our clients team on a contract basis in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee payroll reconciliation, journal entries, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. As part of a dynamic organization, you will collaborate closely with HR and finance teams while contributing to audits and year-end processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, adaptability, and leadership to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

• Perform accurate payroll reconciliations for multiple entities on a semi-monthly basis.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger while ensuring precision and compliance.
• Collaborate with HR and payroll specialists to address adjustments and requests effectively.
• Manage financial audits by liaising with auditors and supporting audit-related activities.
• Assist in year-end closing processes and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
• Provide strategic support to the Director of Payroll for operational and decision-making needs.
• Oversee payroll accounting operations and ensure seamless integration across departments.
• Utilize accounting software systems to maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and payroll policies.
• Offer leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams without direct supervision.
• Extensive experience in payroll accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong understanding of payroll functions and tax accounting principles.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with financial audits and year-end processes.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with managers and cross-functional teams.
• Leadership capabilities to guide and support operations without supervision.
• High degree of attention to detail and precision in financial reporting.
