Retail Sales Representative/Merchandiser

Position : Retail Sales Representative/Merchandiser Region: St. John's Newfoundland Reports To: Sales Manager Anticipated Start Date: May 15, 2022 We are a well established successful and growing company that prides itself on being one of the premier food brokers in Canada. SUMMARY: The Retail Sales Representative is responsible in providing excellent customer service to all accounts in their specified territory. In addition, the gathering of field information and representing our Clients in a professional and courteous manner is vital to the success of this position. Duties and Responsibilities: * To make store visits to new and existing retailers * To provide store-level support on new product launches and initiatives. * To perform store audit checks * To manage retail distributors and pre-sell feature activity and track featured activity * Manage shelf space and location of products. * Build rapport at store and head office level * To participate at various distributor and food related trade shows. The successful candidates must possess the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Have excellent communication skills both written and oral with a strong command of the English language * Have excellent negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills * Have excellent organizational and time-management skills * Have excellent presentation skills - in both the boardroom and kitchen * Be a self-starter and able to work independently * Must have a valid drivers license Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: * Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. * Work may be performed in an office, warehouse or restaurant environment. * Stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. * May have possible exposure to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds. * Flexible work hours to accommodate demands of position (some weekends included) * May require travel up to 80% of the time within territory and overnights may be required We offer a competitive wage, bonus potential, car allowance and group benefit package.
