BCIT’s
Interior Design Department is recruiting for
temporary part-time Instructors. BCIT requires individuals to fill
temporary, part-time Instructional positions for delivery of Flexible Learning courses on a term-by-term basis in our
Interior Design, Flexible Learning ProgramsWe invite individuals to view the

BCIT Flexible Learning runs three terms in twelve week blocks:
September to December, January to March, and April to June, as well as a summer term from July to August. Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Instruct and help students learn.
- Provide academic assistance in a variety of learning situations.
- Facilitate and maintain creative and positive learning environments.
- Develop, modify, and continuously improve, course outlines, curricula, evaluation procedures, and instruments.
- Prepare and maintain all course-related records including evaluation, attendance records, and submit information as required.
- Identify, prepare and organize course materials and learning resources for course delivery
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: - Relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design or related field.
- Minimum five years of related current experience, with practical knowledge and experience in the residential (kitchen and bath) design field.
- NKBA membership eligibility and Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBA) Certification an asset.
- Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer (CKBD) Certification an asset.
- Hands on experience with Chief Architect would be an asset.
- Hands-on AutoCad experience would be an asset.
- Hands-on experience with Sketch up, Photoshop and Indesign would be an asset
- Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work within, and develop, a collegial environment.
- Previous teaching experience or formal instructor training (PIO, ISW, PIDP) would be an asset.
- Flexible availability
Please Note: Instructors are paid three hours per week per course. Course preparation, marking and student assistance time will be required outside of class time and are included in the three hour allocation Additional Information
