Quality Control Consultant

Introduction

Brunel is partnering with a newly built, government-funded GMP biomanufacturing facility dedicated to producing clinical trial materials for innovative biologics and vaccines across Canada. Our client is looking to hire a Junior QC Consultant to support cleanroom and laboratory operations. This is a full-time contract position working in a hybrid arrangement (4 days on-site).

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior QC subject-matter expert within a multidisciplinary team supporting clinical biologics and vaccine programs.
• Perform Environmental Monitoring activities (e.g., viable and non-viable air, surfaces, utilities such as WFI, pure steam and gases) and generate EM trending reports.
• Conduct EM data entry, verification and basic trending, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Support QC documentation including logs, forms, and data summaries.
• Draft, execute and/or update QC SOPs and related procedures for laboratory and EM activities.
• Assist in analyzing microbiological results and support recommendations on actions based on microorganisms found during monitoring.
• Collaborate with the Senior QC Consultant and QC lead to deliver assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
• Contribute to other QC activities as needed (data analyses, document generation, review and reporting).

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a GMP environment for biologics (QC, QA or related roles).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Environmental Monitoring and QC in a GMP environment (cleanroom / sterile / aseptic biologics).
• Degree in Microbiology (minimum B.Sc. or equivalent).
• Practical experience with QC documentation, sampling, and basic data trending.
• Comfortable working in GMP cleanrooms and QC labs and following strict procedures.
• Fluent in both French and English (spoken and written).
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to commute to Montreal regularly.
• Experience supporting start-up or commissioning of new QC labs, EM programs or biomanufacturing facilities.
• Familiarity with LIMS or electronic QC data systems.
