Position DescriptionAbout usOur goal is to come alongside Kenyans to empower orphans & vulnerable children through Jesus-centred, cost-effective and culturally-relevant homes.

Creating a missional ecosystem designed to support and serve OVC’s and their caregivers.. Overview : We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director / Fundraiser to lead our organization.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, process improvement, fundraising, and leadership.

A deep alignment with the mission is a must.- To meet annual fundraising goals & execute the Vision of ReACT by ensuring the continual improvement of systems, staff, programs and fiscal integrity both in Kenya and Canada.

The primary role of the Executive Director is to oversee and improve Governance, Financial Performance, and Organizational Mission and Strategy.

Working under the direction of the Board of Directors to execute the Vision of ReACT in both Canada and Kenya, the Executive Director will manage Kenya staff as well as Canadian Volunteers and Canadian Committees.

The Executive Director is also directly responsible for ensuring that the annual budget goals are set and met through the direct oversight and leadership of all fundraising efforts and committees.

Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decision, fundraising and to increase the overall exposure and engagement of the public by various strategic means.

To hire, supervise, collaborate and inspire all staff towards the ultimate vision of ReACT.Strategic planning, implementation and expansion of all programs in Kenya towards the Board’s vision.

Responsible for building out an annual fundraising plan and increasing the overall revenue of the organization.Oversee marketing and other communication efforts (social media, emails, media initiatives, newsletters, blog etc ) with existing partners and with the purpose of expanding engagement with new partners.

Help to plan the Board and committee meetings as per the Annual Calendar.To work together with the Kenyan accountant ( and Kenyan Managing Director if applicable) and management staff to establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions.

To oversee the administration and function of the day-to-day Canadian operations of ReACT.To ensure that ReACT meets all government requirements, including the CRA and KRA as well as any registration requirements in both countries.

To oversee the review and approval of monthly financial reporting and when approval has been granted, to be responsible for the forwarding of monthly funds according to the Annual and Monthly Budgets.

Travel at least once a year to Kenya. The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following : A bachelor’s degree (or higher)High integrity, humility and character as a proven leaderA strong work ethic with a high degree of energyA strong public speaking abilityA personal relationship with Jesus that fuels their vision towards Biblical justice.

Five or more years experience in a similar positionExperience and skill in working with a Board of DirectorsActive fundraising experience with excellent donor relations skills and an understanding of the non-profit community.

A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.An ability to communicate ReACT’s mission to partners, volunteers & the community at large.

A willingness to undertake a personality test as they grow in becoming students of themselves as well as those they work with.

High level of strategic thinking and planning. An ability to envision and convey ReACT’s strategic future to the Kenyan staff in a culturally relevant way.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in a culturally diverse environment.This position is expected to be a part-time / full-time position.

Some hours may be required in evenings and weekends in order to accommodate special projects.The Executive Director role offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
