Role / Responsibilities :

Our deep risk expertise, expansive information resources, and innovative application of technology help our clients confidently navigate an evolving marketplace. Moody’s Analytics AXIS actuarial system is widely used by life insurers, reinsurers, and consulting firms for pricing, reserving, asset and liability management (ALM), financial modeling, capital calculations, and hedging. The AXIS actuarial system provides the flexibility to deploy large-scale computing power through an advanced cloud-based delivery platform or installed software.
The Actuarial Tester will work closely with other actuaries, including actuarial programmers, and may collaborate with our client support, system design and marketing professionals. Their primary responsibility is to test the accuracy and robustness of intermediate to complex new module specific AXIS features. They may assist in other areas such as development of job specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Testing various complex features and bug fixes in AXIS :
Consult with programmers to determine a formal, documented testing plan to ensure the feature or fix is functioning as expected and matches approved specifications.
Liaise with client support specialists to ensure that testing plan for client jobs will meet client needs.
Perform and sign-off prescribed testing of complex features in line with the release schedule.
May include developing job-specific data to be used for future testing by the Quality Assurance team.
Analyze the results of tests performed and provide meaningful reports to the programming team.
Clarify, review, and verify functional and non-functional requirements, ensure that specifications are complete, feasible, verifiable, and actionable.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing tools and processes.
Qualifications :
A degree in actuarial science or equivalent.
Must have an ASA or FSA, and at least 4 years of working experience including 2 years of relevant AXIS experience.
Strong interest and aptitude for actuarial modeling work using actuarial software systems.
Strong analytical, technical, and diagnostic skills.
Well-organized and detail oriented.
Excellent record keeping (documentation) ability.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work out of our Toronto office or remotely from any location in the United States or Canada. If remote, must be able to travel periodically to the office in Toronto
