Description de posteMeasure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables Set up and adjust production machineries / tools Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools Read blueprints to determine work requirements Machinist Trade Certification Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Micrometers Callipers Calibre Gauges Verniers Automatic lathes Boring machines Engine lathes Milling machines Surface grinders Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines Ability to work independently Tight deadlines Repetitive tasks Physically demanding Standing for extended periods Attention to detail Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) Tools Steel‑toed safety boots Accurate Dependability Efficient interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Excellent written communication Flexibility Initiative Team player Quick learner Dental plan Health care plan Vision care benefits Learning / training paid by employer Management and Manufacturing
