Foster Park Animal Hospital is welcoming a part-time dedicated registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our amazing network of skilled veterinary professionals. While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training!

Requirements include completing a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program.

Technical skills or knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy. Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery. Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records. Compassionate care for hospitalized patients and their pet parents. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Problem-solving abilities or the ability to ask clarifying questions to help find solutions. Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and pet parents. Passion to learn more within the role. A love for all companion animals.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical care including patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, catheter placement, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy support.
• Assist in surgical preparation, procedures, and patient recovery.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
• Deliver compassionate care for hospitalized patients and their families; communicate effectively with pet parents.
• Manage multiple priorities and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Adapt to solving problems and asking clarifying questions to reach solutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
• Show a passion for all companion animals.

Qualifications

• Completed a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program.
