Our Division & Communities
Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12. We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools. These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley, and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County.

Eligible Applicants
We are seeking a Teacherwho has a passion for developing and facilitating off-campus education programs that allow senior high school students to explore and investigate a variety of career opportunities.
The Role
The Division Off-Campus Learning Facilitator is responsible for facilitating programs within all Division High Schools and through the established Summer School. These programs provide senior high school students with opportunities to gain practical career experiences, applying and expanding their knowledge, skills, and attitudes in contexts that assist them in making informed decisions regarding their future education, training, and employment upon graduation. Additionally, these initiatives foster a smooth transition from school to work and / or post-secondary institutions. The successful candidate will also liaison with career experience partners such as Careers the Next Generation and The Educational Partnership Foundation.
The Facilitator collaborates with four (4) Division high school principals, summer school principal, and teaching staff to implement Career Internship, Work Experience, Green Certificate Programs, and Registered Apprenticeship programs. Following the Alberta Education off-campus education handbook, the facilitator works with leaders to create and maintain local guidelines that align with the handbook's standards.
The Candidate
As a member of a highly motivated team and student-centered educator, you are prepared to collaborate with colleagues in a Professional Learning Community. Your teaching practice includes the ability to design and plan learning activities that transfer, and develop thinking competencies. Further, your practice assesses individual student variables to inform the design of meaningful and experiential learning opportunities and effective assessment practice.
Your ability to foster effective professional relationships with student, families, staff and community is critical. You demonstrate a willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities and support students in the whole school experience that characterizes effective schools. Your capacity to integrate technologies and and support experiential learning that connects students to community resources within Maker-centered learning, CTF and CTS learning environments is evident.
